Helen Segal is an Independent Art Contractor. She specializes in large scale commissions.
She spent her formative years in South Africa and traveled extensively in her 20s, immersing herself in different cultures particularly on the continent of Africa. She has been inspired by artisans around the world especially their use of vibrant colors and intricate patterns made from a rich variety of materials. San Diego, California became her landing place where she raised two children. Currently she resides in Escondido, which provides her with extensive studio space to build her artistic creations which range from large architectural installations to smaller more idiosyncratic and imaginative pieces. All forms of media interest her and she particularly enjoys combining her abilities to draw, sculpt, mosaic, paint and fuse glass.
She has a degree in Fine Arts, graduating summa cum laude.
